How Music Helped Me Through My First Breakup When I was younger, I used to listen to music as an escape. When my parents would fight, or when I was feeling sad, angry, or frustrated I’d always find solace in a song. Now that I’m older, there are still times when life can be hard and it seems like there is no way out. Those moments are the ones when words of encouragement and lyrics that touch your soul make all the difference in helping us through those trying times.

I was and still am a Taylor Swift fan.
Taylor Swift is an amazing singer and songwriter, with a great voice and personality. She’s also a great performer who has been successful in her career for a long time now. I love Taylor Swift because she writes songs that speak to my experiences as a woman, and she does so in such an honest way that it feels like you could be reading her diary entries or listening to her talk about herself on the phone with your best friend. From the first time I listened to “Dear John,” I knew that this was someone who completely understood me and my life experience as a young woman trying to get through high school and college just fine despite all of these changes happening around me all at once.
Katy Perry is one of my faves from the beginning.
My favorite artist has always been Katy Perry. She is a singer and composer who has released several albums, including her breakthrough album, one of the Boys, which debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 in 2008.
Additionally, “I Kissed A Girl” (2008) won five American Music Awards, as well as a Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. with more than a billion followers as of February 2019, she has also received recognition with additional honors, like as Guinness World Records titles for “Most Followers On Twitter” and “Most Instagram Followers.”
Pink and Sara Bareilles are two other favorites of mine.
You may not know it, but Sara Bareilles is a singer-songwriter and she’s so good at it. Her songs are relatable and comforting, as they often tell stories that many people can relate to. When I first heard “Love Song,” I felt something deep inside me resonate with the lyrics: “I’ve had my share of droughts/I’ve stood in the pouring rain/and I have finally seen the sun come out again.” This song reminds me that no matter what happens in your life, you will get through it. and there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel.
Sometimes I still need to give myself a good cry.
When I was going through my first breakup, music helped me get through it. But now that I’m older and more mature (and less heartbroken), some songs make me want to cry again. Some of them are lovely and melancholy; others make me feel furious or frustrated.
